A former cop made the difficult decision to enter hospice care, but his brothers in blue refused to let him pass without a proper salute. Denny Preston, a former sergeant, who worked at the Coon Rapids Police Department for 26 years, had been battling cancer for two years before he decided to return home. Although Preston had been retired, the department proved he was far from forgotten when they surprised him with a police escort home from the hospital and touching salute in his driveway.
